Join us in new roles in Yate, supporting several young people at an exciting time in their lives as they transition to living independently in their own, shared homes. You’ll support them in all aspects of their busy lives. Initially there is likely to be some hours supporting the individuals in the lead up to them moving home, as well as some hours working in some other, nearby services.

The individuals have learning disabilities and you’ll support them to do the things they want to do in the community; from going to the gym and horse riding, to working in social enterprises and swimming. You’ll support them to increase their independent living skills too, and in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. Find out more about these aspects of the role through videos on our main website.
If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential.
