    These are new roles and as such its an exciting time to join us as we look to build our teams and develop services to ensure we’re delivering excellent quality and outcomes for the people we support. You’ll support people with learning disabilities and autism at home and in the community to live life more freely.

     

    We have various roles in Carterton. In one role you could support people who are relatively independent, active in the community and share a home; you’ll support them to increase their independence. In another role you’ll support mature adults who share a home, one of whom has dementia.

     

    In another service you’ll support a gentleman who has behaviours that can be considered as challenging. This is a role which would suit an experienced support worker used to lone working.

    About the role

    You’ll join our friendly teams, enabling people with learning disabilities to increase their independence; there’s lots of variety. You’ll support individuals in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. As a support worker you’ll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres.     If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. View our 'day in the life of a support worker' video:

     

    About you

    You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for some roles.
