Being a Nurse with Brandon Trust isn’t just about developing your nursing qualifications and experience. It’s also about bringing an opportunity for freedom and fulfilment into the lives of people with learning disabilities.
In this rewarding Casual (Bank) Nurse role, based in the village of Chalgrove, you’ll support adults who have complex physical needs and learning disabilities. They lead busy, active lives and are keen to try new things. You’ll have flexibility and access to shifts that work for you.
As a key worker, you’ll provide essential services, and you’ll receive full training, equipment and support. You will need to be available and able to carry out your role during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Brandon is committed to protecting our staff, candidates and people we support so we have taken appropriate measures in our recruitment process to minimise the risk of infection. We will continue to monitor and adapt our plans as the Government and Public Health England release updates.
You’ll join the team in supporting individuals in Chalgrove; just a short commute from Abingdon, Didcot and South Oxford. The team is experienced and friendly, and the individual’s families are also actively involved in their lives.
Working with a team of support workers you will be primarily supporting the health needs of the people we support, in particular one individual with complex health needs. You’ll work closely with other professionals to develop safe systems of working and achieve the best possible outcomes for the people we support. You’ll also ensure that people receive health care and treatment consistent with their Health Action Plan and Care Plans.
You’ll have a nursing qualification with current NMC registration (preferably RNLD, RNMH or ENLD) and demonstrable experience of working with people with learning disabilities. You'll also need to have experience of Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. Confident and calm under pressure, you'll also be flexible, open to a challenge and innovative in your approach.
It is desirable that you have a full driving licence, and are able and willing to drive the service vehicle.
