Overview

Join learning disability charity Brandon Trust as a support worker and discover a genuinely rewarding role with plenty of training, support, a competitive salary, benefits and opportunities to develop your career. You’ll join the team in Lydney who support five people with a learning disability, autism or both at home and in the community to live life in the way they choose. You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training.

 

This is a part time role requiring 2-4 nights per week covering 10 hours per shift.

About the role

You’ll join our friendly teams, enabling people with learning disabilities to increase their independence; there’s lots of variety. You’ll support individuals in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. As a support worker you’ll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres. If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. About you

You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You will be required to attend meetings and/or training courses that may be held during the weekdays.

You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
