Exciting opportunity to join as a ‘waking nights support worker’ in Trowbridge as we develop and grow our services, you’ll have a guaranteed number of hours work each week and work nights/evenings from 8.00pm until 7.00am, this role is for 33 hours and is to work on Wednesday Saturday and Sunday nights, though there could be some flexibilty with the nights worked. This role will be working within the family home initially.

 

There will also be occasional daytime working, for example to attend training courses. 

About the role

This is a varied role where you'll support people with a learning disability, living in a shared home.

 

You’ll join the team in supporting people during the evenings and through the night. You'll respond to people's needs as they arise. You'll also manage general cleaning and maintenance of their home, as well as any paperwork required. During the night there is on-call or sleep-in support available, depending on the service you are based in.

About you

You’re considerate, committed and respect people’s differences. Empathetic, you adapt your approach to individuals’ needs, have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. You come up with creative solutions to overcome challenges and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. You’ll need to be flexible and able to work shifts including weekends.

The salary for this role is £17,794 - £18,492 pa pro rata (£9.10 - £9.46 per hour), dependent on qualifications & experience. 

You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
